Wireless connectivity, particularly via WiFi, has become a usual thing on practically all computers, not only desktops but also netbooks and laptops. Thanks to it, a computer can connect to the internet or even another device, as long as there is a WiFi capability of its own. What is not as ordinary is for a single device to be able to connect, simultaneously, to some wireless devices, and this is exactly what Sony determined to make possible on its Sony VAIO Z and Y series laptops.
Sony VAIO Z and Y series laptops, or at least some of the models, will be come bundled with the Share My Connection (SMC) wireless technology. What SMC does, essentially, is turn the device into a portable WiFi hotspot, where up to five other devices can be connected.
Indeed, something like this isn’t a novelty and already possible in Windows and Mac software. But Sony’s solution has a benefit as it’s usable out of the box, which means that not only tech savvy will be able to easily install a network like this, casual users will also be able to do so.
The Y Series will be available in five different shades, among of them are purple violet, fuchsia pink, pear green, teal blue, as well as black. The VAIO Y Series will be priced around $770. While the counterpart Vaio Z is even more interesting. It has only 3.0lbs of weight with a carbon fiber aluminum casing. The Vaio Z will set you back $1,950.

I like the pink Vaio. I think introducing a pink Vaio is the best thing that Sony has ever made since it started manufacturing gadgets. Pink is a color universal to all women, transcending culture, race and religion. No wonder it’s such a best seller among girls. – Tanya Bayo
